The Farm: Llamas and Alpacas
Since 1995 our herd has grown to about 30, which also includes a few of those little camelids called Alpacas. Our llamas and alpacas live on 300 acres, in some of the country's most beautiful scenery.

Llamas are very curious animals that are easy to train and are very good with children. Mother Hildegard, who cares for the sheep and llamas, has a doctorate in child and adolescent psychology with an emphasis on using animals in therapy. She runs a 4-H llama club on the island and helps the local children train the llamas for the show ring and obstacle work.

Breeding stock and pets are available for sale as well as llama and alpaca rovings. Our Lady of the Rock specializes in beautiful fibered, gentle llamas, which are perfect for children in 4-H clubs. Please contact the guest mistress for availability and pricing.
